The Last of 2017

December 31, 2017
Yesterday I met up with a couple of friends for a delicious brunch at the Combine Kitchen, and I realized while we were catching up that this was going to be the last Saturday brunch of 2017. I cannot believe that by this time tomorrow, we'll be in 2018! But I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to a fresh start. I feel so motivated to go after everything I want for myself this new year. So cheers, my friends! May 2018 be filled with tasty food, meaningful relationships, joyous celebrations, and good things to come for all of us.

Disneyland Days Like These

December 23, 2017
Highlights of this Disneyland trip included finding Alice and the Mad Hatter actually riding the teacups ride, receiving a free Disneyland postcard, seeing the holiday parade + fireworks show (the fireworks have always been my favorite!), watching a very funny Tangled theatrical performance that I've never seen before, running around the park to get our photos taken (we got one with Mickey!), and just spending the day with good friends at the happiest place on Earth (thank you, Aimee!!). Days like these are the best kind of days.

These are a couple blog posts from my past trips to Disneyland:

Foodie Club at DCA

December 19, 2017

Last Saturday my foodie club friends and I headed over to Disney's California Adventure to check out all of the yummy food booths at the Festival of Holidays. We pretty much spent the day eating through the park haha. Below are a few random snapshots from our day:

Can't forget the drinks, of course! I tried the Warm Chocolate Float from Holiday Duets, which sounded good in theory, but ended up being somewhat disappointing because of the temperature (hot chocolate + vanilla ice cream = semi-cold chocolate milk?). The drink on the right is the Merry Cherry Punch from Grandma's Recipes. My friends were huge fans of it.

Heath Ceramics Factory Tour

October 8, 2017
Last month I flew up to San Francisco and while I was there, I got the opportunity to tour the Heath Ceramics factory in Sausalito. I've always been a huge admirer of their clay dinnerware, so this tour was honestly the highlight of my weekend! It lasted for about an hour, and we got to see all sorts of behind-the-scenes processes from the types of clay they use to how their plates are shaped and later glazed. I really enjoyed it and plan on touring their second factory (the Heath Ceramics tile factory in San Francisco) the next time I'm in town.
